Causes for Yeast Infections.

Anything that destroys the “good” bacteria in the body will cause yeast to have a place to grow. Usually the naturally occurring bacteria in and on the body prevent yeast from growing out of control. This is because the waste products produced by bacteria are toxic to the yeast and also the yeast can’t compete with the bacteria for nutrients and space.
Things that destroy the “good” bacteria include medications and drugs such as antibiotics, steroids, prescription drugs and birth control pills. Other causes of yeast infections can be sprays, soaps and coloured and scented toilet paper. Also stress, fatigue, repeated bacterial infections, allergies and a low immune system can cause yeast infections. Other factors can be environmental toxins, diet (too much sugar especially), hormonal changes (PMS, menopause or pregnancy) or diabetes.

Men can get a yeast infection from a female with a vaginal yeast infection through having intimate relations. Infact men are four times more likely to carry yeast if their partner has an infection than those who do not have contact with yeast carriers.
